Wow, so I just logged into this and realised it's been a year and a have since I last posted. Considering that last post was also the first, that's a little concerning!

I rarely call myself a photographer as I don't actually photograph that often. I guess that I would probably prefer to label myself as an 'artist' as it gives me more freedom, somehow. I suppose that when you tell someone that you are a photographer, they make certain assumptions about you. It's also strange being female in an artform that seems dominated by males. Some more concerned with shutter speeds and apertures than the content of the photographs themselves.

As of late I have begun taking more photographs. Mainly because I play in a band called Winter Villains, and I am making the artwork for our album. Because I haven't read photographic theory in a while and am not particularly up to speed with what contemporary photography has to offer, I feel pretty out of touch. On a positive note, I feel like it gives me a clean slate to start with. If not a little daunting.

I thought I'd post some photos on here. Definitely not as finished work, but perhaps so that I can figure out what I want to do (if anything), with photography.
